Stella’s Happ-a-dee-do

Sunday, November 17th, 2013

Before posting newer pics and things, have to make a Stella birthday post!

Here’s the birthday girl, she turned 2 on July 8th, and we had such fun with her puppy party….

Uncle Pat, Aunt Lori, cousin Owen and Grandma Jan were all in town for the weekend.  Was so great to have them here!  We did fireworks, a visit to the botanical gardens, some hot dogs at the Varsity, fun times…

Swimming Lessons & Weekend with Jamma Jan

Monday, August 20th, 2012

Mom came out for a visit a couple weeks ago, and of course I didn’t take nearly enough pictures since we were too busy having fun (or chasing kids)!  We took a nice puddle splashing walk right after it rained one day.

And had some nice dinners on the porch (with great example of Lucas making his new “smiley” face….lovely).

And mom got to come with us to see Lucas at swimming lessons.  He’s only got one more week left, and he loves it, so looks like we’ll have more swimming in our future.  Before these lessons he had been really cautious in pools, always excited to get in but never wanting to leave the first step.  So it’s been fun to see him get into it!

Meanwhile…Stella continues to be adorable.

Lucas is 3!

Friday, June 29th, 2012

On May 9th Lucas turned three!  And with a birthday in the middle of the week we had a fun filled birthday week celebrating multiple times. First at home on his real birthday, with grandma Jan and grandpa Clark who were here visiting.  We started off the day with L shaped pancakes.

And birthday hats of course…then Stella helped Grandpa Clark get the cupcake party set up for after school.

And on the weekend we had a fun party in the park with friends.  Stella stayed up while Lucas was napping, and was a big help with the party prep.

Fun times with the friends and neighbors!

Stella meets her grandparents

Monday, September 5th, 2011

Over July and August Stella got to spend a lot of time with her grandparents. Now, after 2 months, we are beginning to settle into our new routine. It was so wonderful to have this special time with our parents this summer!

2 week old Stella with Grandma Jan

And a bit older with Grandpa Clark.

And here she is Skyping with Thomaz’ dad and grandmother in Brazil

And Thomaz’ mom just left after spending three weeks with us in August.

And of course Lucas misses all the extra attention too!!

Halloween 2010

Saturday, April 23rd, 2011

Still in catch up mode…Some pics from Halloween! Same weekend that Mom, Dad, Scott and Cherisse were visiting. Lucas was a fireman and they have a fun little party at his daycare that we went to, and he got to stay up late enough to hand out some candy too.

Lucas was Baptized on October 30, 2010 here in Atlanta at the Cathedral of Christ the King. His uncle Scott is his godfather. Grandma Jan, and Grandpa Clark came in from Houston, and Scott and Cherisse came from Denver for the weekend. And several of our Atlanta friends were able to join for the celebration as well. It was a very special day.

Afterwards we had a nice lunch back at our house, Dad was the master chef turning out quesadillas.

Fridge DJ

Saturday, November 20th, 2010

Recently Lucas’ dance moves have really advanced 🙂  Here he is showing off to the crowd (Grandma Jan, Grandpa Clark, and Uncle Scott) as he busts a move to his Fridge DJ.    His grand finale is particularly dramatic.  (pw=pitanga)

CHI 2010 in Atlanta

Sunday, May 16th, 2010

The big Human-Computer Interaction conference (CHI) was in Atlanta this year. This was really fun for us because it meant that a lot of our old Media Lab friends were in town!  It was so great to see everyone.

We went for dinner with my first advisor at MIT, Ted, and an old friend, Win, who was one of my first labmates.

And we had a great visit with the DiMiccos, who stayed a few days after the conference to hang out.  We had so much fun meeting little Adam for the first time.

We even had a decadent adult only date night, where we ate at the Woodfire Grill, and even got to meet Kevin of Top Chef fame.  But mostly it was lots of family fun time. Walks in the neighborhood, playing on the park swings, taking up lots of room at brunch places for some double stroller nap time.

Adam tried out some of Luc’s big boy toys, and Lucas was in love with Adam’s orange whiffle ball.

Can’t wait until the next time we can get the little guys together again!

Meeting Molly

Sunday, June 15th, 2008

Our friends Susan and LeRoi were passing through Atlanta a couple of weeks ago, on their way to visit LeRoi’s grandmother. So, we got the chance to meet Miss Molly, who is now 4 months old. She is a doll, and so calm and sweet. We’re looking forward to spending more time with them in Houston for July 4th.
