Two Weeks Later…

Sunday, November 22nd, 2009

So, in a matter of two weeks Luc has gone from flopping around randomly in his walker, to full on goal-directed speed racer….and he’s still fascinated with the camera as you can see (pw=pitanga)

6 months

Happy 6 months B-day to Lucas!  Here are my favorite recent photos–taken at sunset one day when Luc was laughing at Thomaz.  Which he is *always* doing by the way, he gets a big kick out of daddy!

Lately it’s hard to get pics of him smiling because when he notices you with the camera, he’s fascinated with it, and just has a blank stare.  So you have to sneak up on him to get any good photos.

And here are a couple videos of what Luc is doing at 6 months.  Lately he’s started getting really vocal.  Last week he actually lost his voice from “talking” so much.  We thought he might be getting sick, but no, just lost his voice from screaming. (passwd=pitanga)

And he’s getting better at scooting around in his little walker chair, particularly since he got his first real pair of shoes.

So now he’s been enjoying the walker more and more!

1st Halloween

Sunday, November 1st, 2009

Lucas had a fun 1st Halloween this weekend!  We dressed him up as a skeleton.  We noticed that his outfit actually glows in the dark!  Couldn’t get any photos of him smiling in his costume, so I think he was trying to be a scary skeleton.

He only went trick-or-treating to one of our neighbors, but left with a piece of candy that was pretty interesting…no need to take it out of the wrapper.

Then we headed off to an infant halloween party that some friends were hosting.  It was five little boys all under 6 months old!  They sort of seemed interested in each other from time to time, and we lined them up on the couch to take some ridiculously cute photos.  No one really smiled for the photos though, I think they were all wondering why all the adults were staring at them and laughing.

I took a quick video of the photo shoot, because the funniest part was that they were all accidentally grabbing at each others costumes and hands.  The kid next to Lucas kept grabbing his arm and Lucas would look over at him like “what the heck is up with this guy?!”   (password=pitanga)

Lucas Utility Vehicle

Sunday, November 1st, 2009

Big news in the car department. Gramps was sold! A college student with a friend who works on cars bought it, and they came over with a trailer and took him away. To Gramps credit, the trailer was unnecessary since started no problem that day.

For the last few months we’ve been mostly getting around in the Mini, and seeing how we do functioning as a 1-car family. It’s definitely do-able, but we decided that having a second car would be much more convenient. The Mini is less than ideal for carting around Lucas and all his junk, here is a short demo of how we have to ride when it’s all three of us going somewhere (password=pitanga)

So we were very excited to find our Lucas Utility Vehicle on craigslist last week, a 2008 Ford Escape.  The sellers literally lived right down the street from us. They needed to get rid of the car because they were moving to London. We love it so far! And we can fit the whole fam in for a ride (Mario and Luigi are very excited to go on car rides again!!)
